There are many kinds
of bridges, including suspension bridges and arched bridges. However,
no bridge seems as beautiful as a cable-stayed bridge. Tatara Bridge
is reminiscent of a swan with its wings elegantly spread. Its central
span is 890m and is the longest cable-stayed bridge in the world.
The bridge is built between Ikuchijima, Hiroshima Prefecture and Omishima,
Ehime Prefecture, which is a part of the "Shimanami Kaido" connecting
Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture and Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture.
Under the bridge, there are many places to visit such as Tatara Park,
campgrounds, and hot springs, and visitors can have a fun time in
the whole area.
